Dear One relaxing after our
hike in a meadow.
I love this photo.
It captures his simple
calming demeanor.
Always strong.
No drama.
Acts quickly and decisively.
Runs toward danger, never away.
Puts others first.
Not given to emotions.
His love is stable.
His heart is steadfast.
His love for the Lord is unwavering.
He stands on principle.
Has integrity.
Lives with a strong moral compass.
Never follows the crowd.
Shows his love by action.
Can always be counted on.
A man of honor.
He lives a stable life of peace.
I am thankful for the real men
in our society and families
who courageously live to give.
They live lives that glorify God.
I think today of a great
young man who lost his life
yesterday standing for Truth.
They are not seeking to be noticed.
They simply do the right thing.
One thing my husband refuses to
participate in is drama.
He grew up around emotional
instability and refuses to entertain such.
He wants our home to be drama free.
He has taught us over the years
to think spiritually and to focus
on the Word not our emotions.
We need that today don't we?
A focused mind creates a heart of peace.
God will keep us in perfect peace
when our minds are focused on Him
and we trust in Him.
We are small.
We have no right to question God.
His ways are not our own.
Our place is to receive His will
with an open heart and steady obedience.
This alone creates stability.
Knowing that God is in control
allows our minds to rest from seeking control.
Praising Him at all times
creates quiet within our hearts and our homes.
Just set aside the pressure of
giving in to the demands and wants
of the flesh. Just say 'no' to self.
No.
I will not press for my wants.
No.
I do not demand an answer
that explains all to my satisfaction.
No.
I will not allow my mind to
be unsettled or negative.
Yes.
I will praise God because He
is wise and He does what is best.
Yes.
I will follow His will
without questioning.
Yes.
I can do all things
through His strength.
We can learn to stand peacefully
in the storms of life when we set aside
emotional or dramatic thinking
and stabilize our hearts by
believing that God is in control.
Our place is to simply live
this day surrendered to Him,
and enjoy the blessings of this day.
Then go on and do the next thing.
No matter our feelings.
Emotional and spiritual stability
comes from grounding
our life in God's Word
and trusting God's purposes
rather than relying on our feelings.
As the old hymn says...
"When darkness hides His lovely Face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.
On Christ the Solid Rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand.
When all around my hope gives way
He is my only hope and stay.
Life is challenging.
The days we live in
are days of spiritual battle.
We must put our armor on
and stand.
There alone
will we live in
moment by moment
peace and stability.
